Biography

Angeliki Samara is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at the Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Business Administration, University of Macedonia. She obtained her BSc in Economics from Aristotle University, pursued her MSc degree in Applied Economics and Finance with academic direction in Applied Accounting and Auditing from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Surrey, UK. She also holds a professional qualification in Audit from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (IESOEL).

She is the President of the Examinations Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (IESOEL) for the conduction of the professional exams. She is a member of the Committee for Research Ethics of the University of Macedonia. She is also a member of the Quality Control Board (SPE) of the Greek Accounting and Auditing Oversight Board (ELTE) and of the Quality Control Committee (EPE) of SOEL.

Her research interests include Financial Reporting, International Financial Reporting Standards, Accounting and Auditing.

Her work has been presented in various academic conferences and has been published in peer reviewed academic journals. Angeliki Samara is also a member of national and international organizations, such as the Multinational Finance Society, the Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association and the Economic Chamber of Greece.
