Christos I. Negkakis is a Professor of Accounting at the Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Business Administration at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece and the Dean of the School of Business Administration, as well as, the Director of the Postgraduate Programs of the Department of Accounting and Finance. Professor Negkakis has also been the Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance.

He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting, an M.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Business Economics. His research interests are focused on International Financial Reporting Standards, the International Standards on Auditing, the value relevance of accounting information, as well as, the measurement of financial reporting quality and audit quality. His teaching interests include Financial Accounting, International Financial Reporting Standards, Corporate Accounting, International Standards on Auditing, Auditing and Internal Audit, Internal Audit and Risk Management and Advanced Issues in Financial Accounting, which he had taught in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Professor Negkakis has published scientific studies in academic journals such as the European Accounting Review, the International Journal of Accounting, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Financial Stability, the European Journal of Finance the International Review of Financial Analysis and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and has presented his research in many international conferences such as the European Accounting Association, the European Financial Management Association, the Multinational Finance Society and the Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association.

He is Chairman of the Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association (HFAA) and has held the positions of the President and the Executive Secretary and Treasurer of the Multinational Finance Society.
