Panos Tziogkidis

Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting and Finance

Welcome to my personal webpage. I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Macedonia. My main research interests concern methodological aspects of efficiency and productivity analysis as well as empirical applications, mainly on banking. In the past, I have collaborated with the US Department of Transportation as an expert adviser on issues of efficiency and productivity analysis. My recent research examines challenges pertaining the calculation and interpretation of composite indicators, frequently used by policymakers. I was invited to present an early version of my analysis at the European Commission.

My research appears in well-respected journals, including the European Journal of Operational Research (4* ABS), Omega (3* ABS), Annals of Operations Research (3* ABS), Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (3* ABS), Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money (3* ABS) and Energy Economics (3* ABS). I present actively my research at various conferences, but I regularly attend the conferences of the International Society for Efficiency and Productivity Analysis (usually the EWEPA and NAPW events), as well as the conferences of the Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association (HFAA), to both of which I am a regular member.
